The Ministry of Railways, through Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), has finally released the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 09/2025. This recruitment drive is a major recruitment drive , which aims to fill 21,997 vacancies tentatively for various Level-1 posts under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix in multiple zones of the Indian Railways.

Important Dates for Applicants

The Railway Group D covers a wide range of technical and non-technical support roles across various railway zones, including northern , The starting salary (Initial Pay) for Railway Group D posfs is ₹18,000 per month, and some applicable allowances as per central government rules.

Eligibility Criteria Railway Group D

Those who want to apply ensure you meet the following requirements as of January 1, 2026: as per the recruitment notification.

  • Age Limit Railway Group D posts : 18 to 33 years. ( Age Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories is applicable per government norms for more details read notification.
  • Educational Qualification Railway Group D : 10th pass / Matric pass, Candidates must have completed the required educational or technical qualifications from a recognized board/university by the closing date of application. Those awaiting results are not eligible.
  • Nationality: Open to of Indian citizens and of Nepal/Bhutan, and certain categories of Tibetan refugees or persons of Indian origin moving to India permanently. Not temporary

The Selection Process Railway Group D.

The RRB recruitment process is strictl based on merit and consists of the following stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): first single-stage online examination. Note that there is a negative marking  for every incorrect answer. 33% or 1/3
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who  qualifies CBT will be called for the PET.
  3. Document Verification (DV): Candidates who clear both PET and OMR text will have their original documents verified.
  4. Medical Examination (ME):  at last Final selection is subject to passing the medical standards required for the specific post.

  • One Application Policy: You can only apply to one RRB/Railway Zone. If one Submits multiple applications it will lead to disqualification.
